Day 4 - lower Galilee region Mt Tabor

Today started with a trip to Mt Tabor - the “mountain alone” in the gospel which Jesus went up with Peter, James and John.  Here He was transfigured, his face shone as he basked in the presence of God.  In our worship we reflected on the contrast of experience at two hilltops - here at transfiguration, and the other at Golgotha...

The church here is beautiful, with two side chapels as well as a main altar, one depicting Elijah and one depicting Moses.






Due to a mistranslation in some versions of the Vulgate, Moses is some depicted in art as having horns, or horns of light, as he descended Mt Sinai with the 10 commandments - as seen here in the version above

The last post...

I thought I had probably come to the end of the blog...but here’s one last entry... As I head to bed tonight ahead of an early wake-up call...
