Day 3 - around the shore (cont...)

Next door to Tabgha is Mensi Christa - the place believed to be where Jesus cooked breakfast for his disciples after His resurrection.





We then visited Magdala - a fairly recent excavation of an ancient site.  Held to be the home of Mary Magdalene, and a large town in the time of Jesus.  We know from Scripture that Jesus “went from town to town and preached in their synagogues” so we know that this floor and this teaching hall were known by Him.




There are also excavated houses on this site - some which were he homes of wealthy people (as indicated by the private Mikvah pools (for puritification rituals prior to going to the Synagogue) in their houses.



And a beautiful reminder that we ar also among the living stones as we walk this land...
